kraz ˈkrɑːs – ‘crispy’ in Breton, refers to the pleasant and tasty crispiness of buckwheat galettes.
Kraz Crêperie aims to introduce an authentic yet modern crêperie experience in Bangkok. Owner and chef Frank le Bayon, from the successful French bistro Iode, envisioned bringing a piece of his childhood in Brittany to Thailand. The name Kraz – ‘crispy’ in Breton – perfectly encapsulates the crispy buckwheat galettes that are central to Kraz’s offerings, paying homage to the rich culinary heritage of Brittany, where crêpes are not just food but a way of life.

The branding for Kraz was crafted to embody the founder’s vision of a modern and inviting concept, and the crêperie’s Breton heritage. We embraced Kraz’s Brittany roots, while infusing our creative touch into every facet of its branding.

Stripes motif
A colourful twist on the classic marinière, bringing a signature Breton visual to the brand.
Brand colours
Inspired by the essential ingredients of a galette, buckwheat (beige) and egg yolk (vibrant orange) hues dominate the palette.
Typography
Selected a retro-styled font that takes its inspiration from 70s and 80s French storefronts, blending nostalgia with modernity.
Logo
Our approach here was hand-drawn for boldness and distinction, crafting a logo that is both striking and inviting.
Verbal Identity
The verbal identity strikes a balance between being authentic, casual, and playful, with puns and wordplays designed to resonate with a diverse audience while reinforcing Kraz’s unique character. We shaped the brand voice to be as authentic and accessible as it is casual and high-quality.
The branding seamlessly translates across all platforms—from print brand collaterals to digital platforms like social media—ensuring a cohesive and vibrant brand experience that truly brings Kraz to life, everywhere it appears.
